Team News, Form and Prediction as Oxford United Travel to Exeter

Oxford United turn their attention to the FA Cup when the U’s travel to Exeter at the weekend.

Gary Rowett remains unbeaten as Oxford head coach since his arrival before Christmas, with three wins before a draw at Preston last time out.

Those results have seen the U’s move out of the bottom three with a game in hand on some of those around them.

Exeter conceded two late goals to lose 2-1 at home against Bolton last time out in League One. The Grecians are without a win in their last three games and currently sit 14th in the table.

Elliott Moore will miss the game through injury but Przemyslaw Placheta was rested at Deepdale, so he could be in contention. However, both Mark Harris and Peter Kioso were forced off during that 1-1 draw, while Cameron Brannagan also has a hamstring issue.

Former U’s man Yanic Wildschut is the only absentee for the visitors, although defender Pierce Sweeney is also a doubt for the fixture.

Ruben Rodrigues took his tally to four for the campaign after his two goals in his last two games. Mark Harris is the top scorer on five but Dane Scarlett is just behind on four. New signing Ole Romeny could be in line to make his debut, while Stephan Negru has also been recalled from his loan spell at Salford.

Strikers Millenic Alli and Josh Magennis have 15 goals between them this season, while defender Tom Crama has also added four for the Grecians.

Oxford’s win at Exeter on the final day of the League One season ensured a top six finish for the U’s. Oxford have eight wins from the last 14 meetings between the sides, with the Grecians victorious on just one occasion. The U’s are also unbeaten on their last eight visits to Devon.

Predicted line-up: Matt Ingram, Greg Leigh Ciaron Brown, Sam Long, Hidde ter Avest, Will Vaulks, Louie Sibley, Siriki Dembele, Owen Dale, Ruben Rodrigues, Dane Scarlett.

Prediction: Exeter City 0-2 Oxford United
