Will West Ham United Accept Cornet Sale?

The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath has reported that Roy Hodgson’s side is weighing up the possibility of signing the West Ham United forward just before the winter window closes on Thursday (February 1). They could be looking to sign another forward to add more options to their frontline and make a stronger push in the second half of the season.

The journalist also adds that the 27-year-old could be allowed to leave the Hammers because David Moyes’ side are in search of signing a new wide forward before the winter window shuts. McGrath claims that Palace are looking into a six-month loan deal for the Ivory Coast international, who recently scored his first goal of the 23/24 Premier League season in West Ham’s 2-2 draw against Sheffield United.

Crystal Palace Looking To End Winter Window Strongly

With Crystal Palace just six points away from the relegation zone, there is a willingness for Steve Paris & Co. to improve the squad to ensure that they aren’t dragged back into the relegation battle heading into the final few months of the campaign.

The Eagles have already signed a new full-back in the form of Daniel Munoz, who has been brought on board to improve their strength in the right-back position. Moreover, it has also been reported that Palace have now agreed on a deal with Blackburn Rovers for the signing of their young midfielder Adam Wharton, a deal that should be finalized before the end of the window.

It now seems like Roy Hodgson is thinking about signing a new forward on loan to improve the number of options at his disposal in the frontline. Cornet is quite a versatile player who can operate as a winger or even as a wing-back, and he was hailed for his “spectacular” goal-scoring quality a few years ago too.

The 27-year-old has made 42 appearances in the Premier League in his career, scoring 10 goals, and can add decent depth and more goal-scoring quality for the London side.
