Manchester United Predicted Lineup & Team News vs Galatasaray

Erik ten Hag Encouraged by Improved Form

Erik ten Hag’s side secured their biggest win of the season with a statement 3-0 win over Everton. Goodison Park was full of noise, with fans united in protest of their club’s ten-point deduction for financial fair play breaches.

Despite the atmosphere, Sean Dyches’ men found themselves immediately behind and stunned by Alejandro Garnacho’s incredible overhead kick.

Premier League veteran Ashley Young later made a poor challenge and gave away a foul in the box against a sprinting Marcus Rashford. Captain Bruno Fernandes gave his usual penalty duties to the England international in an effort to boost his confidence. His converted penalty was just his second goal of the season.

While the home side attempted to fight back, Anthony Martial’s third sealed the three points in spite of the strong atmosphere in the stadium. United have now won five of their last six in the league but did lose their last European tie to Copenhagen.

They will now visit Galatasaray, who shocked Old Trafford last time out and came out winners in an incredible 3-2 battle in the North of England. Former Red Devil Wilfred Zaha scored in that game, with Argentina star Mauro Icardi sinking the winner at Old Trafford.

Man Utd Yet to Find Ideal Starting XI

Despite an upturn in form, United still do not appear to have a clear first eleven. Their injury crisis, which seems to have plagued them since August, certainly hasn’t helped. But individual form has been concerning this season. Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Mason Mount have struggled while reports suggest that Raphael Varane is frustrated from being left out of the Dutch Manager’s side for an extended period.

Last time out at Goodison Park, Andre Onana started behind Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and the returning Luke Shaw. 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo impressed fans with his composure and technical capability on his debut and stood out alongside Scott McTominay.

Ahead of them, Bruno Fernandes was flanked by Garnacho and Rashford, while Anthony Martial started in place of Rasmus Holjund who had struggled for fitness.

Team News Ahead of Galatasaray Tie

Great news for travelling fans, as Rasmus Hojlund has reached fitness after receiving a knock on international duty for Denmark. The 20-year-old star is the joint top-scorer in the Champions League on five goals along with Alvaro Morata and neighbouring club superstar Erling Haaland.

His impact in the European Cup should come as little surprise, as the Dane’s former manager Gian Piero Gasparani labelled the striker “extraordinary” before he left Atalanta.

More positive news for United, Luke Shaw’s return on Sunday marked the first time in months that the club have had all defender options available to them, with the exception of Martinez.

Kobbie Mainoo could make a European debut after impressing in his first league start at Goodison Park, however, the availability of Sofyan Amrabat and Scott McTominay means Ten Hag has experienced options despite Casemiro’s absence.

Mason Mount has been ruled out for the foreseeable future, he joins Lisandro Martinez in the treatment room.
