How Chelsea Women Have Lined Up Recently

There haven’t been many settled positions in the starting eleven since the season started. Zecira Musovic is one of the only nailed-on starters so far with Millie Bright and Jess Carter getting the nod to shield her as the central pairing.

Maren Mjelde, Ashley Lawrence, Niamh Charles, and Eve Perisset have all lined out in the full back/wing back spots so far indicating there’s no first-choice there yet. Sophie Ingle has operated in the defensive/central midfield duo alongside any one of Erin Cuthbert, Sjoeke Nusken, and Melanie Leupolz so far.

Fran Kirby, Lauren James, Jessie Fleming, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, Guro Reiten, Mia Fishel, and Sam Kerr have all started as attackers in either a 4-2-3-1 or a 3-4-3 due to injuries and rotation.

Chelsea Women Recent Form and Tactics

The team has remained undefeated all season so far although a poor performance against Manchester City Women saw the 4-2-3-1 setup changed to a 3-4-3. As evidenced by the number of players who have started games already this term, there’s still some uncertainty over the optimal tactics to use.

Despite that, Emma Hayes and her charges have got the results on the pitch and come into this one after an easy 2-0 win over West Ham last weekend.

Chelsea Women Injuries to Consider

As confirmed by Hayes in her press conference, Leupolz is a doubt for this contest and will likely miss out. She is joined on the reserves list by summer signing Catarina Macario. While no names were given, there are some players who could mss out following an assessment in the final training session before the match.
