Within a matter of minutes, Fabrizio Romano tweeted not just one but two updates on one of the biggest headline-grabbing transfer stories in Europe this summer. The news comes on the reported rumours that Juventus and Chelsea were looking to swap star strikers Dusan Vlahovic and Romelu Lukaku.
Both announcements offered a major update to the deal that the two clubs have been working towards and give fans a look at how that might affect the squads this season. According to the reports, Vlahovic is staying put, but the Lukaku deal could still be on.

Lukaku Exit Expected
In his first post, Romano revealed that Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri would like the Serbian striker to stay. He distanced himself from the decision-making aspect of confirming that the player was not for sale, but also reiterated that any club interested in him would have to offer a hefty price.

The Italian journalist’s second report noted that the English team have “no intention” of signing Vlahovic in any potential deal. The Blues’ main focus is finding Lukaku a new home. A deal will be reached now to have the Belgian stay in Europe, or if not, a September transfer to a Saudi club seems probable.
Swap Rumours Nothing but Rumours
It appears that in the end, Mauricio Pochettino’s side were never truly in the running to get the Old Lady’s top striker. Sources had expected them to benefit if the swap had taken place, as the Serbian is younger than his counterpart and short of suffering an injury he remains in good shape for the season ahead.

For now, the objective in London remains on finding a new home for the 30-year-old who has some options on the table, both in Europe and the lucrative Saudi Arabia.
