Fabrizio Romano has given a vital update on Chelsea’s discreet move to sign Tyler Adams, a player who will add more depth to their midfield line as they gear up for the start of the 2023/24 Premier League season against Liverpool.

How Much Chelsea Can Sign Adams For?
Romano has claimed that the Blues are actively working on signing Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams to upgrade the midfield area for Mauricio Pochettino. It is mentioned that talks are going on between the English clubs to get a deal over the line.

Moreover, the Italian journalist also states that Chelsea are looking to agree personal terms with the USMNT captain and are yet to agree on the length of the contract or the wages involved. The London side can sign the Leeds midfielder for cheap due to a reported £20 million release clause that allows any club to sign him for that amount now that the Whites have been relegated to the Championship.
Moreover, Romano adds that this deal will not affect the London club’s aims to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo. Romano states this is a separate signing from the Ecuadorian.
Chelsea Aiming At Midfield Revolution
The Blues have worked very hard in reshaping their squad during the summer window, having offloaded more than ten first-team players, including Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic. It is clear that Pochettino wants a total midfield revolution at the club and is eyeing multiple candidates for that.
It has been reported that Chelsea are locked in negotiations to sign Caicedo, but it seems they’re eyeing multiple options to add more depth to their midfield. Adams hailed for his “incredible” contribution to the USMNT – has proven himself as a leader and a hard-working, rugged midfielder.

He’s also very versatile, able to play anywhere in midfield and right-back if necessary. The 24-year-old made 24 appearances in the Premier League for Leeds and produced bright performances to catch the attention of Chelsea, who are now looking to sign him to add more steel to their squad.
