In a significant development, Spanish international David Raya is poised to make a move from Brentford to Arsenal. According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the goalkeeper is set to join the Gunners on a loan basis with an option for the club to make the move permanent.

The shot-stopper hailed as “top-class” by his manager Thomas Frank, is set to join the London-based club on an initial loan, with an upfront payment of £3 million. However, the club have the option to secure Raya’s services permanently for a fee of £27 million next summer.

As per Ornstein, the goalkeeper bid adieu to the staff at the Bees’ Jersey Road training ground, indicating the progression of the transfer. With a medical examination slated for Thursday, his journey to North London inches closer to fruition.

Additionally, the former Blackburn Rovers man is set to reunite with former Brentford goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana at Arsenal.
