However, a deal for Alejo Veliz has seemingly come out of nowhere with a move for the youngster now also creating much anticipation for fans. The Lilywhites are believed to have struck a deal to sign the 19-year-old for approximately £12m, and he has already agreed personal terms over a five-year deal.

Veliz is reportedly in the process of undergoing his medical with Tottenham ahead of his unveiling. He was recently spotted at an Argentinian airport preparing to board his flight to London. While there, the Argentina Under-20 international revealed that he was bound for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, although there have been suggestions that he could be loaned back to Rosario

Medicals In Progress

With both deals on track to be completed this week, Van de Ven’s medical is also scheduled with Romano confirming that the pair are “both undergoing [the] first part of [their] medical tests”. He followed this by adding further that official statements “will follow later this week”. With everything set to be wrapped up, Ange Postecoglou can prepare to integrate the pair ahead of what is set to be another tough season starting at Brentford on Sunday.
