Is Fati Set to Stay?

Ansu Fati produced some impressive performances for the Spanish heavyweights in their pre-season campaign, even scoring the winner in their 1-0 win over AC Milan.

Romano, however, claims that his situation is “one to watch” for the remainder of the summer transfer window. It is added that the 21-year-old would actually love to stay in Barcelona and has already notified the club of his desire to do so very strongly.

However, behind the scenes, clubs are lining up a potential move to sign him. The Italian journalist claims that some sides are pushing to open talks with the La Liga club to sign him and that it is now up to the Blaugrana if they want to enter such negotiations and sell him in the summer window.

As a result, there is quite a lot of uncertainty surrounding his future for the time being.

The La Lig side have only made a few signings in the summer so far, including that of ex-City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan as well as Spanish defender Inigo Martinez.

It remains to be seen if they decide to offload their youth academy product Fati, who was hailed as “extraordinary” by Xavi Hernandez last year. The 20-year-old has made 109 appearances for Barcelona in his career, scoring 29 goals and registering ten assists in all competitions.
