The Lilywhites appear to be open to the prospect of letting their captain leave as he moves into the final year of his contract at the club and amid fears that he might leave the club for free in the summer of 2024.

Sky Sports claims that Bayern officials had lunch with Tottenham representatives recently to discuss the possibility of a move for the 30-year-old. However, they were unable to find an agreement for the transfer of Kane. It’s added that there is still a difference in valuation of at least £20 million between the two sides over the fee that Spurs will accept to let their star striker leave.

The Lilywhites are insisting that a buy-back clause be added to any possible deal that is agreed. This means they want the right to potentially buy the England striker back. This would stop him from returning to England to a club like Arsenal or Chelsea.

Sky Sports also claims that Kane will hold talks with the German giants over personal terms only after a fee is agreed between the two clubs. Sky Sports report that Bayern are confident that agreeing a contract for the 30-year-old will not be an issue and that Kane will be ready to move to the Bundesliga after spending his entire domestic career in England.

The Englishman, hailed as “exceptional” by German legend Jurgen Klinsmann last season, could be tempted by the possibility of winning major trophies with Bayern, who have won the Bundesliga consecutively for the last 11 seasons. Kane set the record for Tottenham’s all-time top scorer last season and has scored 280 goals in 435 appearances for them, but it remains to be seen if he starts the 2023/24 Premier League season in North London.
