The report from the Independent indicates Manchester United manager Ten Hag is looking to streamline his squad to help them challenge for the Premier League title next season. Three Other Players Including Harry Maguire Destined for the Old Trafford Exit Door

Maguire is the next player to be seemingly heading for the Old Trafford exit door. The report makes it clear the Old Trafford hierarchy have set a price of £50 million for the centre-back, however, combined with his high wages have put potential suitors off including West Ham who expressed interest according to Delaney. The update on Manchester United‘s transfer plans mention that Ten Hag has identified Victor Lindelof as the main replacement at centre-back and Luke Shaw as a second backup, which seemingly suggests Maguire’s future is destined to be away from Old Trafford.

The other two players deemed surplus to requirements by Ten Hag according to Delaney are Fred and Scott McTominay. Fulham are the team interested in Fred, according to the independent. The Scottish international is being monitored by West Ham and Newcastle, with West Ham likely to make their move to sign a replacement for Declan Rice, once his move to Arsenal is finalised.

According to Delaney, Manchester United have too many players with high salaries from previous management regimes. It goes on to explain how these players are not keen to move away from their high-paying contracts, and potential buyers are unwilling to pay high for these out of favour players.
