Sky Sports Man Drops Update on Man Utd Move for Bargain £26m ‘Monster’ After Reports Personal Terms Agreed

Manchester United are eyeing a move for Forientina’s midfield “monster” Sofyan Amrabat, claims Dharmesh Sheth. United have been chasing midfield reinforcements throughout this window and Amrabat is the latest name to be linked with a transfer to the club this summer.

Update on United’s Midfield Pursuit

After agreeing a deal to sign Mason Mount for £55 million, United aren’t stopping in their pursuit of further midfield quality. As Sheth says, last month, United asked to be kept informed of any developments regarding Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.

However, with the Seagulls holding firm in their valuation of the midfielder, which is reported to be as much as £100 million, a deal looks difficult to complete and the Red Devils have turned their attentions elsewhere with Amrabat now on their radar.

The 26-year-old’s ferocious midfield displays were integral to Morocco’s extraordinary run to the World Cup 2022 semi-finals, and it seems they have earned him some interest from the very highest level.

Personal Terms Reportedly Agreed With Man Utd

Reports from Italy claim that United have already come to an “economic agreement” with Amrabat: in other words, personal terms have been agreed. While this does not emerge from a top-tier source, it is certainly a reason for hope that a deal could move along quickly.

Amrabat has only one year left on his current contract with Fiorentina, but the aforementioned report states that the Italian side want at least £26 million for the all-action midfielder.

Considering the Moroccan’s quality and bargain price, it would be wise for United to get this move done as quickly as they can.

Sofyan Amrabat: A Wise Move For The Red Devils?

If a deal for Amrabat is to get finalised, his role would be to provide cover for current starting defensive midfielder Casemiro while potentially challenging for a spot in that role.

With United back in the Champions League next season, Erik ten Hag needs depth to be able to challenge from all fronts and Amrabat can certainly provide that.
