Chelsea Discussing Final Details to Complete Jackson Deal

The 21-year-old striker managed to gain the attention of many fans after an impressive end to the 2022/23 La Liga season with the Yellow Submarines, as he scored nine goals in their final eight games of the campaign.

Romano claims that the Blues have already notified Villarreal of their intention to activate the forward’s release clause of around £29.8 million very soon. At this point, they are only discussing how many instalments the fee could be paid to the Spanish side, not wanting to pay that entire fee in one go.

It is also added that Jackson has agreed personal terms with the Premier League giants and is ready to make a move to the club once his own side gives him the green light. Romano adds that it’s now only a matter of time before this transfer is over the line and that the Senegalese star moves to Pochettino’s side.

What Are Chelsea Getting in Jackson?

Todd Boehly’s side appears to be taking a step back from spending a huge amount of money in signing players, as they’re now depending on their scouting system and Pochettino’s call to sign a relatively unknown striker in Jackson, who fits into their policy of building for the future.

The 21-year-old had his breakthrough campaign with Villarreal in the previous campaign, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists across all competitions. He’s also made his debut for the Senegal national team and is known for his impressive pace and goal-scoring ability, which helped the forward end the 2022/23 La Liga season as the most in-form striker around.

Chelsea seem to be ready to trust in the Senegalese forward’s ability to lead the line for them and it remains to be seen if they can secure his signing anytime soon.
