Since joining Bayern last summer for around £22 million from Ajax, the 20-year-old midfielder has not received regular playing time under Julian Nagelsmann or his replacement Thomas Tuchel. Aouna adds that Gravenberch and his entourage will soon make a decision on his future after growing unhappy with the lack of minutes at Bayern.

It is also stated that he is attracting interest from multiple Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool. The Red Devils have set up meetings with Gravenberch’s representatives in the near future to have discussions about possibly bringing him in. United signed Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern in the January transfer window and he’s excelled at Old Trafford, to the point where the Austrian midfielder reportedly wants to stay beyond his loan spell.

With that being said, the club are also willing to hold talks with Gravenberch, mostly because Erik ten Hag is a major fan of his. The Dutch coach worked with him at Ajax, with the two even winning multiple titles together.

How Could Gravenberch Fit In at United?

The United manager knows very well how to use Gravenberch, having promoted him from the Ajax youth academy in 2018 and then helping him become a first-team star under him. The 20-year-old midfielder was able to win multiple Eredivisie titles as well as the Dutch FA Cup as part of Ten Hag’s side.

The midfielder claimed in an interview last year that he had the opportunity to join his former manager at United last summer, but had to join Bayern after giving him his word earlier on. It appears that United are ready to sign him a year later because the manager rates his qualities quite highly. Gravenberch made 103 appearances at Ajax under, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists. He’s only made 27 appearances for Munich this season, which is why the midfielder could be looking for other opportunities in the future.
