In the ever-changing social media landscape, we share more of our lives than ever. We can now reach millions of people around the world by posting a video or writing a blog. However, we are all more open to judgement and criticism than any other generation before us. OnlyFans is a content subscription service that allows creators to share exclusive content with their subscribers, who pay a monthly fee to access it. One of the most recognisable content creators from that platform is Chelsea fan Astrid Wett, and Last Word on Football had the opportunity to sit down with her in an exclusive interview to talk about Graham Potter, the return of Frank Lampard, and what the future holds for her.

Astrid Wett Interview: Supporting Chelsea and Managerial Changes

Astrid Wett Talks About Chelsea Memories

Astrid makes it clear throughout her Twitter account that she is a massive Chelsea fan. Discussing her fondest memory of the Blues, she said: “For me, I didn’t get the chance to go [to games] as much as I would have liked to growing up.

“My best memory has to be the Champions League final in Porto. What a night, Havertz rounding Ederson will forever be engraved in my soul.”

Porto will surely be a fond memory for all Chelsea supporters. After the departure of Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel came in and memorably guided the Chelsea squad to glory in Portugal

The life of a Chelsea fan has never been a boring one, as the club have enjoyed various peaks and troughs throughout the years – and we wanted to ask Astrid about her worst moment as a Chelsea fan: “Hmm I wouldn’t say worst moment as that’s football, but I have not enjoyed this season at all, especially as Arsenal are running away with the league. Please, anyone win it but them!”

With the new ownership coming in and a plethora of new players, it does feel that the playing staff are lacking leadership and identity, leaving Frank Lampard with the massive task of steadying the ship until the end of the season.

The Departure of Graham Potter and the Return of Frank Lampard

The departure of Graham Potter and the return of Lampard as caretaker boss has dominated Premier League news recently, and Astrid was clear on her thoughts regarding the change of manager: “Potter definitely wasn’t the right manager. I’m glad to see the back of him. I am so excited to have Lampard back – even in this short time he will show the players what it means to be a Chelsea player.”

The appointment of Graham Potter was on a five-year deal, which saw the Stamford Bridge club pay £16 million to release him from his Brighton contract. The Englishman was in charge for 31 games at Chelsea, of which he only won 12. Following his sacking, a report from the Evening Standard surfaced that suggested some players made Harry Potter references to him and lacked respect for a manager who had no experience at an elite level.

Favourite Chelsea Player and Premier League Stadium

Despite Chelsea’s disappointing season, the reputation of Astrid’s favourite player has not been too greatly tainted: “Thiago Silva has been unbelievable. For his age, how that man is still playing professional football is a mystery, let alone at the very top with Chelsea.”

There have been rumours linking Mason Mount with a move away from Chelsea, with the club struggling to convince the English midfielder to sign a new contract with them. Astrid was bullish about Mount. “He’s not having the best season, but Mason Mount will always have a special place in my heart.”

Apart from Stamford Bridge, it’s always intriguing to find out from match-going fans what is their favourite stadium. She was full of praise for one of Chelsea’s rivals’ stadiums. “Hmm good question, I hate to say it but I’m sure most Chelsea fans would agree with me, Tottenham’s new stadium is beautiful, it’s a shame the team that plays in it isn’t.”

Spurs’ new ground has proven popular with fans and has hosted sports other than football, with boxing matches and NFL games taking place there. Rumours have resurfaced recently that the Chelsea owners are considering demolishing Stamford Bridge and building a new £2 billion stadium in its place.

“I am so excited to be the first-ever female influencer champion. I was asked to fight back in May last year and did it because I thought it would do well for my social media.”

“Since the beginning of this boxing journey, I have genuinely fallen in love with it, fought twice in front of several thousand in person and hundreds of thousands streaming online. 100% I will have a new fight announcement coming soon.

“After training, I will film TikTok videos, YouTube videos, OnlyFans content, and general media all day. “Then finish that around 7 pm and train again in the evening in the gym.

“Finally, I’ll come home and chat to my subscribers on OnlyFans until I fall asleep.”

Misconceptions and Surprises

Being in the public eye and being judged is something many go through, and Astrid commented on the one misconception about her that she wishes she could change: “Some people think I’m not a nice person. I am genuinely just a normal girl, who got a few followers by luck, to be honest.

“I think because people only see 10/15 seconds of me on TikTok, or a short out-of-context clip, I get a bit misconceived, which is understandable, but I’m just the same as everyone else.”

The Real Astrid and What Does the Future Hold?

George Eliot once said: “don’t judge a book by its cover”, but we’re all guilty of judging people too quickly. Astrid released a documentary on her YouTube channel called “The Truth Behind Astrid Wett“. The documentary shows her boxing journey and offers a fascinating insight into her character. Combat sports content creator Wade Plem offers an insight into the real Astrid when he says: “When you speak to Astrid, you see more than just what meets the eye, you see the person, you see the energy. She’s very bubbly, shes very likeable.”
