Who is Cesare Casadei?

Originally part of Inter Milan’s youth setup, the Italian midfielder signed for the Blues in the summer of 2022 on a six-year contract.

Since then, he has gone on to make 13 appearances for the club’s U21 side, scoring five goals and registering one assist.

He has become known for his goalscoring prowess, with the coordinator of Italy’s national youth teams, Maurizio Viscidi, previously saying he: “Attacks the penalty area better than anyone else we’ve seen, better than Frattesi or Barella.”

He is an exciting player to watch, and will likely have Reading fans jumping out of their seats more than once during his spell at the club.

Casadei is yet to experience any senior football, either in England or in Italy, and this will be a great test for him. He has already demonstrated he has the talent needed to become a superstar in European football, but this loan spell will test his ability to handle the more physical side of the sport as well.
