AS Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile has completed his medical tests ahead of a potential move to Chelsea, as per Gianluca di Marzio. The Blues are working hard to soon announce him as their second signing of the winter transfer window, having already announced the signing of David Datro Fofana.

The French centre-back is ready to take a big step forward in his career and make a move to the Premier League, where he wants to test his skills against some of the best forwards in world football. It’s now been confirmed that he has even completed his medical tests with the London side, taking a major leap to complete the move.

This comes as Chelsea have reportedly found an agreement with his club AS Monaco, who will be receiving just over £30 million from the sale of the 21-year-old centre-back. The Blues consider Badiashile as a valuable player for their future project and are expected to slot him into the role of a left-sided centre-back, so that manager Graham Potter can play a three-man backline on a consistent basis going forward.

The London heavyweights are not stopping on their transfer spree even after having spent a record amount in transfer fees in the summer transfer window last year. They are intent on building a squad that can compete for trophies right now and help them dominate the Premier League towards the end of this decade.

But despite signing two new centre-backs in Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana in the summer transfer window, Chelsea are again going dipping into the transfer market for the signing of Benoit Badiashile. They want a left-footed centre-back in their squad that can help bring more variety to their playing style and help move the ball out of the defence smoothly.

The 21-year-old made 145 appearances for Monaco in his career and was regarded as one of the brightest young players in Ligue 1.
