How Leeds United Have Lined-up Recently

The Whites tend to line up in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, with the 4-2-3-1 being the more common option for Jesse Marsch. Illan Meslier starts in goal with Liam Cooper and Robin Koch in front of him, as Rasmus Kristensen starts at right-back opposite out-of-position Pascal Struijk. Tyler Adams and Marc Roca play in defensive midfield, shielding the back like.

An attacking line of three has recently featured Wilfried Gnonto on the left, Brenden Aaronson in the middle and Crysencio Summerville down the right. Rodrigo has been the club’s main centre-forward this season amidst a raft of injuries.

Leeds United Recent Form and Tactics

The Yorkshire side’s recent form has been quite complex. A predictable loss to Manchester City was followed by a hard-fought draw against Newcastle United, as the Whites took to some less savoury tactics to secure a result. A win does a lot for the club’s standing in the table.

Jesse Marsch has Leeds United playing a fast-paced, high-intensity style of football with a focus on applying pressure to opponents. By creating pressure, the team looks to win the ball and use it to score from chaotic events. This hasn’t worked in the past few weeks, with City dominating the ball and the Magpies being defensive stalwarts.

Leeds United Injuries to Consider

Leeds United have a few injuries causing problems at the moment. Stuart Dallas is still missing, with the injury he suffered last season having a serious effect on his fitness for an extended period.

There are some players that are far closer to a return to football. Luis Sinisterra is expected back in a few weeks after a foot injury, and Patrick Bamford will look to return from his perennial injuries in the FA Cup if possible. New signing Max Wober won’t be available until the cup tie against Cardiff City.
