Predicting the Tottenham Hotspur Starting Lineup

How Spurs Have Lined Up Recently

Last week Antonio Conte’s side lined up in a 3-4-3 formation. Hugo Lloris in goal has protection from centre-backs Ben Davies, Eric Dier and Cristian Romero. Emerson and Ryan Sessegnon roamed the flanks, providing both width in attack and cover at the back.

Rodrigo Bentancur accompanied Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the centre of midfield, and they supply a stable base for the team to build from. The front three consisted of Dejan Kulusevski, Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane, with the latter scoring the equaliser and securing a point for Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur Injuries to Consider

Clement Lenglet and Oliver Skipp, both missing for the clash with Chelsea, remain out for this match. Neither player is too far off a return, however, and could see themselves back in the side for the away trip to Nottingham Forest.

Cristian Romero is more of a concern for Tottenham. After receiving an injury at Stamford Bridge, the Argentinian stalwart could be missing for quite some time. At the very least, don’t expect to see the centre-back in the Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Starting Lineup

Hugo Lloris should retain his position in goal, captaining the side and providing leadership from the back. Ben Davies and Eric Dier will likely also stay in the team, as Antonio Conte keeps the 343 shape. Davinson Sanchez is above Japhet Tanganga in the hierarchy, so he may well claim Romero’s spot. Emerson should keep his position on the right, but Ivan Perisic is a strong contender to take over on the opposite flank.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is undroppable at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and with Yves Bissouma still not ready to start, Rodrigo Bentancur will almost certainly accompany the Dane in midfield. In spite of Richarlison’s push for a start, Heung-Min Son is the ideal left winger to break down Wolves’ low block. Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski should keep their positions in the side.

Current Odds: Tottenham Hotspur vs Wolves

Spurs are currently clear favourites at 2/5. A Wolves win is narrowly the next most likely outcome at 15/2, with a draw coming in at 4/1.
