Just a Formality Left for Manchester United to Sign ‘World-Class’ Star After Rapid Transfer Progress

Casemiro

According to several sources, including Jason Burt at The Telegraph, Manchester United are hoping to announce the signing of the “world-class” Casemiro from Real Madrid in the coming days. The defensive midfielder is a key addition to the squad at Carrington. According to Premier League rules, the Old Trafford hierarchy must register the player before noon on Friday, August 19th, 2022 if he is to play against Liverpool. In a report by Jose Felix Diaz, he reveals that there is just the midfielder’s medical – a formality – standing in his way before he joins the Red Devils.

Manchester United Are Ready to Announce Casemiro

How Much Does the Deal Cost?

In terms of the transfer fee, the deal to bring Casemiro to Old Trafford will cost the club’s hierarchy around £60 million. Whilst Los Blancos were not willing to let Casemiro go easily, they were in no rush to push the Salford club to a higher fee. The Brazilian is no longer in the first eleven at the Bernabeu, so Real Madrid are more willing to let him go.

On the personal terms side of the agreement, the defensive midfielder demands a large sum. According to Relevo, the salary is “spectacular”. As Erik ten Hag is desperate for a midfielder, signing Casemiro quickly means bowing to his high personal terms.

Why Has Casemiro Agreed to The Move?

Firstly, Casemiro is no longer in the Real Madrid first team. This means far fewer minutes as Aurelien Tchouameni takes up his mantle. Since we are in a World Cup year, the Brazilian needs game time to earn his place in Qatar.

Furthermore, Casemiro has won all there is to win in Madrid. From La Liga to the Copa Del Rey, the Champions League to the Club World Cup, the midfielder could seek a new challenge by being a foundation of Manchester United’s rebuild.

After Manchester United Announce Casemiro, What Next?

Ten Hag still has an interest in several targets. Antony and Cody Gakpo are some attacking options the club are considering. The club are also targeting a right-back, with Thomas Meunier at Borussia Dortmund one of the main candidates for a move to Carrington in the summer transfer window.
