Fabrizio Romano: Chelsea ‘Set to Sign’ Midfielder Who Left Thomas Tuchel ‘Bewitched’

After a quick set of negotiations, Chelsea are reportedly set to complete the signing of Inter Milan starlet Cesare Casadei.

Fabrizio Romano provided the information that the deal is close to completion with a fee of roughly £12.5 million with £4 million in add-ons and a six-year deal agreed. Leading reporter Gianluca Di Marzio states that the player’s medical could be completed within 48 hours and has the same information regarding the transfer fee.

According to The Express, Thomas Tuchel was left “bewitched” by the youngster and has since been pushing to acquire the player. The signing of the 19-year-old is part of the Blues’ eye towards the future that has seen them pick up goalkeeping prospect Gabriel Slonina and Carney Chukwuemeka in this window already.

The teenage Italian has yet to play a game for his club or country at senior level so he is unlikely to become a first-team player in the Premier League immediately but he is another young talent to add to Chelsea’s growing stockpile.

Todd Boehly and co. have not waited long to splash the cash on improving the team. The first team has seen additions like Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, and Raheem Sterling, with more players on the radar before the transfer window ends.

In addition to those first-team additions, there have been a number of young signings like the aforementioned Slonina and Chukwuemeka, with Casadei slotting right in as part of that young core.
