Fabrizio Romano has given his coveted “here we go” on Tottenham Hotspur‘s pursuit of teenager Destiny Udogie. There is one clause of interest in the deal: the left-back, who one fan has described as “perfect”, will stay at Udinese on loan for another year in order to continue his development in a familiar environment.

Spurs Have Had a Great Window So Far

Antonio Conte and Tottenham have had a very successful transfer window thus far.

This summer, they have already signed Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Djed Spence, Ivan Perisic, and Fraser Forster on permanent deals, while Clement Lenglet has joined on loan from Barcelona.

Some of these signings have been very smart, not least that of Bissouma. The midfielder moved to North London for a fee of just over £25 million, an incredibly low figure for a standout player from the Premier League.

Richarlison was also an intelligent acquisition, bringing in a winger with plenty of top-flight experience from a side who were nearly relegated last season.

Buying Perisic was a signature Conte move, made even more so by the fact that the pair have worked together before. This again adds to Spurs’ already top-class attacking depth.

Success in the Fullback Department

Having already signed one exciting young fullback in Spence, Tottenham are now set to bring in another.

Udogie may only be 19, but like Spence he has already been a nailed on starter for a solid team. The defender played almost every league game for Udinese last campaign, helping them to a respectable 12th-placed finish in the Serie A.

While it remains to be seen whether this can transfer to quality in the English top division, another season with the Italian outfit will ensure he moves to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium with plenty of experience already under his belt.
