The Black Cats have already failed with a £1 million offer for the 21-year-old. Their lasted bid still appears to be some way short of Wimbledon’s valuation.

Jack Rudoni Offer Turned Down by AFC Wimbledon

Jack Rudoni a Player in Demand

Sunderland are not the only club interested in Wimbledon’s Player of the Season. Huddersfield Town have also had a fresh bid rejected and according to Matty Hewitt of the Chronicle, Bristol City are also interested in his signature.

Midfielder Rudoni impressed in League One last season despite his club being relegated to League Two. The youngster was a key player in their ultimately failed bid to survive, scoring 12 goals. The Dons are desperate to hang on to their prized asset as they bid to secure promotion. However, with three Championship clubs eager to land the player, there could be little Wimbledon can do to stop the player from eventually leaving this summer.

Sunderland Boss Eager to Add Quality and Depth Ahead of New Season

Following four years in League One, Sunderland are finally back in the Championship. However, head coach Alex Neil is under no illusions that the upcoming campaign will be challenging. Speaking to safc.com, Neil has warned everyone about the need to be ready and is eager to bring in both quality and depth to his squad. He said: “That’s one thing [underestimating the division] that I’m really trying to guard against with everybody in the building.

“The Championship is a league that’s obviously been my bread and butter for a number of years. The difficulty you have is that, unlike League One or at least from the sample I had from it, you can play top of the league and then bottom, and the games are equally difficult. There are no easy games, no easy points.

“You need to fight tooth and nail for every point. Providing we understand that, providing we go and try and do the best we possibly can in the recruitment window, and obviously add as much quality and depth as we can, we’ll give ourselves the best chance of being successful.

“All these key elements have been discussed on a regular basis, a daily basis really. We just want to make sure we do that as well as we can.”
