Leeds United Are Interested in Young Belgian Starlet

Leeds United are interested in Belgian and Club Brugge starlet Charles De Ketelaere, according to Fabrizio Romano. This, of course, comes on the heels of multiple top clubs pursuing Leeds star Raphinha. It seems like De Ketelaere would be a direct replacement for the Brazilian star. With that being said, Italian giants AC Milan are also closely monitoring the Belgian wonderkid.

A Rising Star

De Ketelaere was nothing short of brilliant last season. In 33 league appearances, he scored 14 goals and provided seven assists. These are already strong numbers for a 21-year-old up-and-coming talent.

The most appealing part of the player is his incredible versatility. Last season, he spent the majority of his time in the centre-forward role. He has the height and build to develop into a top forward, but at the same time, De Ketelaere has all the traits to succeed as an attacking midfielder and a playmaker. The Belgian also saw a decent time on the pitch in the secondary striker and attacking midfield role. Besides that, he spent time on both wings and even in the central midfield. De Ketelaere is still figuring out his best position, but overall that’s a good sign as he’s been successful all over the pitch.

Whether De Ketelaere remains in Belgium or heads to Leeds or Milan, he’ll find his true position soon enough. He’s already emerged as one of the top players in the Jupiler Pro League and is making senior appearances for Belgium. With the 2022 FIFA World Cup coming up soon, De Ketelaere will be inspired to make a major move and further improve his game.
