Dortmund on the Final Stages of Haller Deal

Borussia Dortmund have finalised a fee with Ajax for the Ivory Coast international and are now just looking into the final details of the deal. The German side have already set up a medical for Haller to take place in Germany and will then proceed with the signing of the final paperwork.

The Bundesliga side have been hunting for a new centre-forward ever since losing prolific striker Erling Haaland to Manchester City. Haller had an impressive redemption story at Ajax after flopping in the Premier League before that with West Ham United.

The 28-year-old striker was one of Ajax’s best players last season and was especially prolific in the Champions League, scoring 11 goals in just eight games, and ending as the third-highest scorer in the competition. He scored 34 goals in all competitions for the Eredivisie champions, proving himself as a ruthless goalscorer.

Haller Set to Become Dortmund’s Sixth Major Signing of the Summer

The 28-year-old striker is set to become the latest acquisition in what has been a very busy summer transfer window for Borussia Dortmund. They surprisingly sacked manager Marco Rose after the end of last season and replaced him with ex-caretaker manager Edin Terzic.

Dortmund have worked hard to prominently strengthen their squad for the upcoming signing. The Bundesliga side already signed defenders Niklas Sule and Nico Schlotterbeck as free agents, as well as acquired highly-rated youngster Jayden Braaf for free too.

They’ve also roped in promising young forward Karim Adeyemi from RB Salzburg as well as midfielder Salih Ozcan for the upcoming campaign. The German giants have also signed goalkeepers Marcel Lotka and Alexander Meyer on free deals.

Haller will become their sixth major signing and possibly finish their summer transfer business. The 28-year-old goalscorer’s acquisition will be a statement of intent about Dortmund’s hunger to strongly challenge for the Bundesliga title next season.
