Liverpool star Sadio Mane has agreed a three-year deal with German giants Bayern Munich, according to Fabrizio Romano, with Liverpool fully aware of the Senegalese international wanting the move to happen. Bayern are now set to enter talks with the Reds over the transfer fee and a deal looks set to be concluded sooner rather than later.

Transfer Fee Set to be Discussed

Only one hurdle is left for this transfer to be concluded: the transfer fee. According to the Liverpool Echo, Bayern have had two offers rejected so far. The first being £25 million, the second £30 million. However, this will not deter the German giants and a third bid is expected to be submitted.

Liverpool have placed a £42 million price tag on the 30-year-old forward. However, Bayern will be hoping to find some middle ground following their latest bid which fell £12 million short of the asking price.

Contract Running Out

With just 12 months left on his current contract, Mané is looking for pastures new having played at Anfield since signing from Southampton in the summer of 2016. The number 10 would go on to score 120 goals in 269 appearances helping the club win multiple trophies including their first Premier League title in 30 years.

Having signed for £34 million, Liverpool look set to recoup the money they paid for the forward six years ago. With just one year left on his current contract and the player wishing to move on, it is unlikely the Reds will stand in his way.

Replacement for Liverpool Star Mane Already Signed

To soften the blow of losing one of their star forwards, Jurgen Klopp has already entered the transfer market this summer to secure a new striker. 22-year-old Uruguay international Darwin Nunez signed from Benfica earlier this week for an initial fee of £64 million. The fee could rise to £85 million surpassing the current record of £75 million paid for defender Virgil van Dijk.

Manager Jurgen Klopp was delighted with his new signing. He told the official Liverpool website: “Darwin is a wonderful player; already really good but so much potential to get even better. That’s why it’s so exciting, to be honest. His age, his desire, his hunger to be even better than he currently is. His belief in our project and what we are looking to do as a club.

“He has all the pieces we look for, can set a tempo, he brings energy, he can threaten space from central and wide areas. He is aggressive and dynamic with his movement, plays without fear, he’s powerful. I know he will excite our supporters.”
