19-Year-Old Moving On

Svidersky, 19, has confirmed he will be moving to La Liga. He was reportedly offered a new deal by Manchester United.  The Slovakia U21 international is likely to find first-team football easier to come about in Spain.

Arnau Puigmal and Largie Ramazani made similar moves last summer, leaving United for La Liga 2 side Almeria and have been successful since. Puigmal, 21, scored five goals and provided four assists in 33 league games with Ramazani scoring eight and assisting one in 30 appearances, together gaining promotion to the Spanish top-flight. Svidersky can take great inspiration from that.

Svidersky represented Manchester United academy at U18, U19, and U23 levels, scoring one goal and providing four assists. He operates as a defensive midfielder and has filled in at centre-back when the U23s were short.

He has played eight times for his country at U21 level.

What Svidersky Had to Say

On his exit, Svidersky said in a statement on Twitter: “As soon as I walked through the door, I fell in love with the club. I knew that this was the club I want to be in. For a 14-year-old boy with a dream it was an easy decision, not so easy leaving everything behind. My family, my home, all my friends and everything I have been doing for so many years.

“My journey at this club ends, but I’ll never forget all the lessons I’ve learned on and off the pitch from many different people. I have grown not just as a footballer, but also as a person. It wasn’t an easy ride…so many ups and downs, unforgettable memories mixed with lots of difficult tough days and disappointments.”

Svidersky went on to thank all the people who have helped him during his time in England with the Red Devils.
