Real Madrid Midfielder Keen to Leave Following Champions League Triumph

Real Madrid Midfielder

Less than 24 hours have passed since Real Madrid lifted yet another Champions League title. Vinicius Junior scored the game’s only goal in Paris as Los Blancos once again overcame Liverpool. Despite this taking place just last night, the silly season of transfer rumours continues undeterred. Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos was subbed on late in the game and, as per Fabrizio Romano, he is keen on a move to Real Betis.

Real Madrid Midfielder Dani Ceballos Wants Out

Ceballos Wants Real Betis Move

Dani Ceballos, prior to being a Real Madrid midfielder, played for Real Betis. He came through the academy at the Estadio Benito Villamarin and made just short of 100 appearances for the first team in Seville. Ceballos was then never properly afforded a chance to start regularly in Madrid. This was of course due to the generational talent already in the middle of the park: Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

A loan move to England saw him play in London for Arsenal. Ceballos was again unable to establish himself as a regular. His time with the Gunners didn’t last all that long and, to rub salt into the wounds, Martin Odegaard has become an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s team. Where one Real Madrid midfielder failed to cement himself in the North London XI, another is thriving.

Betis themselves are enjoying a prosperous stint with Manuel Pellegrini at the helm. They won the Copa del Rey this season, beating Valencia in the final and it was a strong La Liga campaign too. Ceballos would join the likes of Nabil Fekir, Sergio Canales and William Carvalho in a very technical midfield. He would surely, only add to that.

Possible Real Madrid Stay

The official line from Betis director Cordon the Real Madrid midfielder is as follows: “Ceballos is desperate to join Betis. But he’s a Real Madrid player, so I can’t say more.” There hasn’t been any huge talk beyond this on the player’s future with no other clubs being heavily linked.

Ceballos of course has a history with Los Verdiblancos and he played some of his best football there, hence the move to the Bernabeu. He has been in Madrid for a number of years but hasn’t amassed all that many appearances. If he desires to play football regularly, this rumoured transfer makes a lot of sense for all parties.

There could be a lot of transfer business surrounding the La Liga champions. They missed out on Kylian Mbappe and meanwhile Marcelo will be leaving after several years of sustained success there. Ceballos is another whose future is up in the air.
