Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas has reported that Chelsea have made a last ditch, deadline day enquiry to secure an Ousmane Dembele transfer but with it being so late in the day, any deal will be complicated to get signed, sealed and delivered.

Dembele’s Barcelona future has been in doubt for some time with the club telling him he needs to find himself a new club before his contract expires in the summer. No offers have been received and the player seems intent on seeing out his contract, something that has angered Barcelona as they want to get a fee for him to help with their much publicised financial difficulties.
Now it appears that Chelsea have made a last minute enquiry to bring the winger to Stamford Bridge.
Paris Saint-Germain have been trying to get a deal done for Dembele, but that was unable to be successfully concluded leaving Chelsea with an opening. The wages that the player commands will be another hurdle for Chelsea to try and overcome and it looks more likely he will remain with the Catalan giants for now.
If a deal cannot be done then Chelsea are likely to try again in the summer when the player is out of contract with Thomas Tuchel a big admirer. In that instance they will look to a do a deal based on a pre contract agreement.
Sky Sports have also reported that their sources have said the deal is difficult but not impossible so the final hours of the winter transfer window could be a real scramble as the East London side look to add one more player to their ranks.
