Franck Kessie Could Be Snatched Up by Tottenham Hotspur

AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie is seemingly not going to sign a new contract at the club. There are a number of teams said to be interested in bringing in Kessie in the summer.

However, Tottenham Hotspur may swoop in for him in this window to win the race, reports Mike McGrath of The Telegraph.

Tottenham Could Swoop for Franck Kessie

Previously Looked Set to Stay

It previously seemed that Kessie would remain in Milan until the end of the season. Especially when you consider the fact that Stefano Pioli’s men are engaged in a fierce battle for the title and they have ground to make up on city rivals Inter.

With Kessie’s contract at the San Siro set to expire in the summer and there seeming to be a lack of talk regarding an extension, he will surely depart.

A number of Europe’s elite teams have been linked with signing him on a free transfer at the end of the season. Spurs, on the other hand, who are embroiled in a fierce race for top four alongside the likes of Arsenal and West Ham United, may well get there first.

By paying Milan a fee this month as opposed to saving the money and waiting it out, Tottenham want to win the race and they want Kessie to make an instant impact.

The Ivorian would be a huge addition to the squad, bolstering the Lilywhite’s midfield as they fight for a return to the Champions League.

Where Else Could Kessie Go?

Tottenham may be intent on wrapping up a deal for Kessie as soon as possible, but that doesn’t mean he is North London bound. Teams in Italy, England and other countries around the continent are keeping tabs on him.

Juventus, as is often the case when a Serie A player is on the move, are being touted as heavily interested.

Alongside Spurs, their city rivals Arsenal are another team mentioned by various outlets. This is hardly surprising given the situation in the Gunners’ midfield.

Elsewhere, Manchester United, West Ham, Barcelona and Real Madrid are being named as potential destinations.

These teams have been labelled as clubs he could join in the summer though whereas Spurs are leading the way when it comes to this current window.
