Michael Cuisance and Jonathan Ikone Transfer News – French Duo Moving to Serie A

Jonathan Ikone transfer news

Despite the usual lack of activity at this time of the year, clubs do make deals when they see it as necessary. The January transfer window will open on Monday for Serie A and La Liga clubs, while the rest of Europe’s top five leagues can begin their business on New Year’s Day, but teams around the continent are already confirming deals.

Jonathan Ikone transfer news has been heating up recently, and it has now reached its climax, while Michael Cuisance is another player who will be on the move this January.

Michael Cuisance & Jonathan Ikone Transfer News: Duo Moving to Serie A

Former France Youth Player Joins Venetian side

Serie A surprise package Venezia are set to sign former France youth player Michael Cuisance from German champions Bayern Munich. The midfielder will join for a reported fee of €4 million.

Cuisance has struggled to make an impact in Munich following his move from Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Frenchman has made just 11 appearances in two-and-a-half years at the club, with his game-time being limited due to the fantastic options Bayern have in their midfield. He spent last season on loan with Olympique Marseille where an option to buy was included in the deal, but Marseille decided not to trigger the clause.

Cuisance is set to give his career a second chance by joining newly-promoted side Venezia FC.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move early on New Year’s Eve: “Venezia have all set to complete the signing of Michael Cuisance on a permanent move for €4m plus add ons from FC Bayern. Matter of time to sign paperworks and announce the deal in next few days.”

It is reported that Cuisance also faced interest from CSKA Moscow, however, the Russian team failed to secure his services.

Jonathan Ikone Joins Fiorentina

Another Frenchman is also set for a move to Italy: this time, it’s Jonathan Ikoné. He will be wearing the violet colours of Fiorentina when the transfer window opens. The winger is moving to a side chasing European football and will link up with top quality players like Dusan Vlahovic.

Ikoné’s move will be for a reported fee of €14m plus €1m in add-ons, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Lille confirmed the sale of Ikoné on Friday morning, stating that the player will move to Florence when the market officially opens. He will join the Italian side on a deal that will last until 2027.

This signing confirms the club’s intentions of returning to Serie A excellence as they chase continental football.

Fiorentina have also slapped a €70 million price tag on sensation Dusan Vlahovic, who has endured a great Serie A season.

Ikoné will be looking forward to the prospect of playing with the Serbian, as he could leave in the summer having earned plaudits from across Europe.

Elsewhere in Serie A

Elsewhere in Serie A, Andriy Shevchenko’s Genoa are set to sign Silvan Hefti from Swiss side Young Boys. Genoa need serious improvements if they are to stay in the division, having achieved just one win in the first half of the season.

In other news, Napoli are currently being linked to Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe, who is on loan at Aston Villa. It was confirmed that “Napoli are in contact with Manchester United through intermediaries to discuss potential loan fee and buy option for Axel Tuanzebe.”

“The centre back is appreciated but price tag will be key to proceed in negotiations”, as per Fabrizio Romano.
