Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Ten Picks

Quick Tips

Despite the temptation to take hits to replace the yellow flagged players, it might be better to use your bench players if the players look like starting. That is if the players with injury concerns are likely to return quickly unlike David Raya. However, the press conferences ahead of this gameweek will be very interesting indeed.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Ten: Fixtures to Target

Manchester City v Crystal Palace

Manchester City‘s four-year reign as English League Cup titleholder was ended by West Ham United on Wednesday night. That would’ve hurt Pep Guardiola’s men and they will try to make amends this week against Crystal Palace. City have had troubles in the past against Palace with only one win out of their last three visits to the Etihad. However, they won 4-0 last season so should not worry them too much. Patrick Vieira’s men have done well this season even though they have only managed to win once. However, expect a comfortable win for Manchester City here.

Phil Foden has been in superb form with 31 points from the last three gameweeks. He came on against West Ham and missed his penalty in the shootout. Kevin De Bruyne played 83 minutes which will worry his FPL owners. Gabriel Jesus, Jack Grealish and João Cancelo are all decent options from this game.

Liverpool v Brighton & Hove Albion

There is a euphoric atmosphere around Liverpool at the moment after humiliating Manchester United at Old Trafford last Sunday. Jurgen Klopp’s men also defeated Preston North End in the League Cup where they were able to rest almost all of their regular starters. Brighton have done well this season and might have Yves Bissouma back., so it may not be plain sailing for Liverpool. In fact, the seagulls won this fixture last season.

However, Mohamed Salah is in sensational form and that is impossible to ignore. He loves playing at Anfield and seems unstoppable at the moment. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sadio Mané, Andrew Robertson and Virgil van Dijk are all good options also.

Newcastle United v Chelsea

Injuries to their main strikers did not affect Chelsea at all as they hammered Norwich City 7-0 last week. This week, they face another struggling side in Newcastle United. The Blues should win comfortably and the frustrated owners of Kai Havertz should give him another chance. Mason Mount scored a hat-trick last week but those were his first goals of the season. As always, predicting the Chelsea starting lineup is always tricky but Ben Chilwell looks very likely to start. He’s been in superb form after coming back into the side. Chelsea have some injury concerns but the players in question are all likely to make it for this weekend.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Ten: Things to Consider

Jamie Vardy, Raphinha, Fernando Marçal, Bryan Mbeumo, Ben White, Kieran Tierney, Martin Ødegaard, Ethan Pinnock and Armando Broja are all currently yellow flagged on the game. There might be other players with injury concerns also. Many FPL managers have multiple players in their squads with doubts surrounding their fitness.

If Bryan Mbeumo is out, Maxwel Cornet, who has caught the eye recently can be considered as a replacement. Emile Smith Rowe is also a decent option. If there is still some budget remaining, James Maddison is another worth considering. He is back in form and has some nice fixtures coming up.

Despite a tough fixture this week, Callum Wilson is a good option to consider as a long-term pick. However, his fitness remains a concern.

Jamie Vardy has a brilliant record against Arsenal with 11 goals in 13 matches. Hence, his FPL owners will hope that he is fit enough to start this week.

Many FPL managers are considering bringing in the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. However, one would expect Manchester United to perform much better this week and Tottenham Hotspur are not exactly in stellar form.

Captaincy Options

To be honest, it would take a brave FPL manager to not captain Salah after his 24 point haul last week. However, Phil Foden and Kai Havertz are decent alternative options as they have good fixtures also.
