Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Six Preview

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 gameweek six will start with the massive clash between top-of-the-table Chelsea and champions Manchester City this Saturday. With the North London Derby on Sunday and the M23 Derby on Monday night as well, this promises to be a very exciting round of fixtures. Let’s find out what’s in store for us this gameweek from an FPL perspective.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Six Picks

Quick Tips

Many regular starters did not feature in the midweek Carabao Cup fixtures. However, one would expect most of them to make it for the weekend’s matches. There are injury doubts surrounding Patrick Bamford, Raphinha and Trent Alexander-Arnold, so stay updated about the team news coming out from the pre-match press conferences.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Six: Fixtures to Target

Manchester United v Aston Villa

After crashing out from the Carabao Cup, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want to see a reaction from the players this Saturday. Solskjaer made 11 changes to his starting lineup for the midweek game so all the starters will be fresh for the weekend. Cristiano Ronaldo scored once last Sunday but he should’ve scored more considering he had seven shots and a few penalty claims. At home, you would expect him to take a lot of shots once again and perhaps score one or more goals.

Aston Villa are a decent side but without Jack Grealish, they do look a bit lightweight this season. Besides, John McGinn probably won’t be cleared to play due to the concussion protocol. You could expect a home win here with attacking returns from Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood.

Leeds United v West Ham United

Leeds United are facing an injury crisis at the moment with Luke Ayling, Diego Llorente and Robin Koch injured with doubts surrounding Bamford and Raphinha. In addition, Pascal Struijk is suspended and Jack Harrison will likely miss out with COVID-19. Marcelo Bielsa will hope to have some of those players available for this match but it looks tough for them to cope with a very strong West Ham United side that will have Michail Antonio back after suspension. Saïd Benrahma is another worthy option from the hammers with three goals and two assists so far this season. However, Leeds United have a decent run of fixtures coming up so one should not be in a hurry to sell the likes of Bamford and Raphinha if they are declared fit.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Six: Teams in Focus

Burnley, Norwich City, Leeds United and Newcastle United have the worst defensive records so far this season. Hence, it makes sense to target these teams. However, the Canaries are facing an injury-ravaged Everton this week which makes it a more of an even contest. Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray are decent options from this encounter. However, tough fixtures are coming up in the subsequent gameweeks for the Toffees. So, would FPL managers take a one-week punt on either of those two? Norwich City actually won on their last couple of visits to Goodison Park.

Brentford have only conceded twice in five games so far. However, they face their toughest assignment of the season so far as high-flying Liverpool visit the Brentford Community Stadium. One would expect Jurgen Klopp’s side to win but it might be a tough game for them.

Watford and Newcastle United face each other this weekend and the players from those sides are decent options. Ismaila Sarr was tipped to do well in last week’s preview and he scored a massive 15 points! He remains a great option despite a price rise earlier in the week.

Leicester City will hope to stabilise their season somewhat with a home win against Burnley. Jamie Vardy could shine although he is a very difficult player to fit in this season.
