Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Five Preview

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Five

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Five kicks off this Friday with an intriguing encounter between Newcastle United and Leeds United. Meanwhile, last week saw the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to the Premier League. It has been an entertaining start to the season and this round of fixtures also promises the same. Let’s find out what’s in store for us this gameweek.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Five Picks

Quick Tips

Having at least two decent options on the bench has always been a good strategy and this was proven last week as well with Dominic Calvert-Lewin missing out through injury. However, the temptation of having both Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku alongside Mohamed Salah might make it tough to ensure that. There are quite a few very cheap defensive options that should make it feasible to have all three premium players. Tino Livramento, Shane Duffy and Brandon Williams are all doing well for their sides. Moussa Sissoko and Emmanuel Dennis are also decent options on the cheap.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Five: Fixtures to Target

Liverpool v Crystal Palace

The Reds have an amazing record against the Eagles with eight wins in a row against them. In fact, Liverpool have scored 24 goals in those eight games. Both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané have scored plenty against them recently. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota are also good picks.

In fact, Alexander-Arnold and Salah are must-haves. However, Palace look much better this season and might cause them one or two problems. Liverpool should still win but it may not be an emphatic victory.

Manchester City v Southampton

Champions Manchester City have bounced back very strongly after their opening round defeat. They are scoring freely and have a great record against this week’s opponents. A big win is definitely on the cards here. However, with so many options available, picking the right player is very challenging indeed. Gabriel Jesus, Jack Grealish and João Cancelo all seem to be great choices but you have to be brave to play the Guardiola roulette.

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Brentford

Wolves have performed really well so far this season even though they only have three points to show for it. Brentford are not an easy team to play against but seem to be struggling to score. This match should be targetted for a clean sheet for the home team. Nelson Semedo and Fernando Marçal are great options.

Newcastle United v Leeds United

Both teams find themselves near the bottom of the table, although the mood is a lot worse in the case of Newcastle United. The fans have not been happy for a long time and the lack of activity in the transfer window has not helped matters for Steve Bruce.

Despite not doing well so far this season, Leeds United are probably one of the worst teams to face at this stage for the magpies. If Leeds are on their game, this could go badly wrong for Newcastle at home. Plenty of goals should be on offer and you should try to get both Raphinha and Patrick Bamford.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Five: Teams in Focus

Looking at the next three rounds of fixtures for all teams, Wolves, Leeds United, Norwich City and Watford really jump out. You could really get some cheap players from these sides for the next three rounds. Norwich City have not looked great so far but they might target these matches to turn things around. Ismaila Sarr from Watford is a great option for this run and is a cheap option. Wolves and Leeds United options have been mentioned above.

Chelsea will have a brilliant run of fixtures from gameweek seven but their next two look pretty tough. Lukaku might still score in those, though.

Manchester United had a disappointing defeat in the Champions League and will hope to bounce back against West Ham United. The hammers might be tired after their Europa League match. The red devils have Aston Villa and Everton coming up afterwards. These matches can not be called easy but one suspects United could win them all.

Champions Manchester City have two of the toughest away trips possible coming up after this week. Despite an easy game this week, you should probably not load up with their players.
