Cristiano Ronaldo Seeking Juventus Exit

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly asked Juventus to leave him out of the club’s starting lineups as he looks for an exit in this summer’s transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese great did not start this evening’s Serie A clash with Udinese for transfer-related reasons. Despite the player’s apparent unhappiness at the club, Juventus are confident they will retain Ronaldo’s services beyond the end of the current window.

Forward Did Not Start Juve’s Serie A Opener

Serie A is the last of Europe’s top five leagues to kick off this season, with this weekend’s games the opening round of fixtures in the new Italian top-flight campaign.

As such, it came as a huge blow to Juventus that star player Ronaldo was not involved from the start as they looked to make a winning start to their season.

Ronaldo is understood to feel that being left on the bench by returning Juventus manager Max Allegri will help him find a way out of the club in the coming days. The 36-year-old is under contract in Turin until June 2022, having joined the club from Real Madrid in 2018.

Juventus Confident of Keeping Ronaldo

It is fair to say Serie A giants Juventus have failed to achieve their goals since bringing Ronaldo to the club – despite the player having become the fastest man ever to score over 100 goals for the club by achieving the feat in 133 games.

Juventus have failed to compete for the Champions League title since Ronaldo’s arrival, and surrendered their Serie A crown to Inter Milan last season.

Despite the club’s underwhelming performances in recent seasons, they are still confident of keeping Ronaldo in Turin until his contract expires in a year’s time.

Part of that confidence is due to the fact that no other club has made an official bid for the forward. The club’s vice president Pavel Nedved has told the media that Ronaldo will “100%” be staying put this season.
