According to Fabrizio Romano, AS Roma forward Edin Dzeko is closing in on a move to Inter Milan having agreed personal terms with the Italian champions. The news coincides with Romelu Lukaku’s forthcoming return to Chelsea. It does not come as a result of any exit for Luataro, however, with Inter keen to keep hold of the forward despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Dzeko is a strange choice to replace Lukaku. He is far from a long-term option, at 35, and doesn’t carry the same prowess as the Belgium anymore. With the money Inter Milan are set to receive by offloading Lukaku, too, the reported Dzeko deal may disappoint the fans.

In a summer that stared with the unexpected departure of Antonio Conte, Inter Milan have gone from Scudetto winners to a selling club, with Lukaku also set to leave. All of a sudden, their title-winning manager and star man have or are set to leave the club, potentially allowing Juventus to reclaim the throne this season.
Out of all of the top European clubs, they seem to be up their with the most damaged in regards to financial stability.
Heading into the forthcoming season, new manager Simone Inzaghi will hope to build a team worthy of winning the Serie A once more, starting with Edin Dzeko. Dzeko won’t produce the numbers similar to Lukaku, but he will offer a dominating presence in the frontline.
His experience will only benefit the Italians; his technical ability should compliment his potential new teammates, and his goalscoring touch could surprise a few. The biggest hope will be to keep Martinez and build a strong partnership in the frontline together with the reportedly incoming former Manchester City man Edin Dzeko.
