Harry Kane Set to Return to Tottenham Hotspur Training

Harry Kane

That was quick. After failing to show up for the start of Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season yesterday, Harry Kane sent his transfer news into overdrive. The move blindsided his club and led to massive speculation about his immediate future. However, it now seems that the immediate reaction to this news may have been overblown.

According to a new report from the Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick, Kane should be back with Spurs by this weekend. The report states that Kane should be back training in North London later this week. The biggest news from Kilpatrick’s report though is that Kane himself believes the situation “has been blown out of proportion”.

Transfer Rumours Now Increasing

The transfer rumours surrounding Harry Kane hit a crescendo yesterday when the Englishman failed to show for the start of Spurs’ pre-season training. Rumours stated that Kane had no intention of returning to Spurs. Kane instead, had focused on enforcing his gentleman’s agreement with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. An agreement that would allow him to leave the club this summer.

However, the Evening Standard now reports that Kane himself believes the situation was blown out of proportion. In fact, it is now believed that Tottenham are fully aware of Kane’s plans. The report speculates that talks with the club may have prompted Kane’s change of heart.

The above news will be music to the ears of every Spurs supporter. With the England captain leading the line, Tottenham remain a top six club in the Premier League. However, without Harry Kane, that status at the top of the Premier League becomes quite a bit more shaky.

Also overjoyed by these new expectations will be Daniel Levy and Tottenham Hotspur. With the worldwide transfer market devastated by the Covid19 pandemic, few clubs could currently afford to match Tottenham’s asking price for Kane. One club that could still afford to sign Kane? Tottenham’s Premier League rival Manchester City.

Determined not to sell Kane to a fellow Premier League club, Tottenham find themselves in a tough position. However, with the forward now expected to return to training this week, Tottenham will be hoping that they can now put this transfer speculation firmly in the past.
