Brentford Complete Frank Onyeka Signing

Frank Onyeka

Out of nowhere, newly-promoted Premier League side Brentford have completed the signing of FC Midtjylland midfielder Frank Onyeka. The midfielder has signed a five-year contract at the club ahead of the Premier League season.

At just 23-years-old, he has already won two Danish titles and one Danish Cup. Just last season, he was involved in eight goals from midfield, making 41 appearances- including four in the Champions League. The fact is, despite being so young, Onyeka has plenty of experience.

And it’s that experience which will make him a standout at Brentford. They need that know how Onyeka can provide as they seek Premier League survival and more this season.

Survival the Goal This Season

Brentford will undoubtedly have higher ambitions than survival in the forthcoming season, but the reality is, survival will need to be at the forefront of their minds. The Premier League is a ruthless place. As soon as you finally make it to the top, you can quickly find yourself kicked all the way back down.

The Bees need to approach the season with a combination of caution and eagerness to stick to their free-flowing football. If they can find the balance between the two then they should reach their goals. With a striker like Ivan Toney at their disposal, too, they’ll have more than enough firepower going forward.

As for the rest of the squad, quality remains easy to find with Onyeka the latest piece to Thomas Frank’s survival puzzle. The manager is attempting to create that all-important balance with in his squad; balance that should see them cause plenty of upsets next season.

The Bees are a prime example of the type of teams coming out of the Championship. They play free-flowing, brave football which takes the fight to those at the tops, making them a side fit for success this season.
