Football Transfer News: Jayden Stockley, Andre Dozzell and Freddie Sears

Jayden Stockley Signs For Charlton Athletic on Three Year Deal

After spending the second half of the 2020/21 season on loan at Charlton Athletic from Preston North End, the 27 year old has now signed a permanent three year deal with the Addicks. He scored eight times in 22 appearances during that loan spell.

He will be looking to help Nigel Adkins’ side achieve a top six finish next season, having missed out on goal difference to Oxford United.

Duo Released From Ipswich Town

Andre Dozzell has become the fourth signing for Queens Park Rangers in the early stages of this transfer window and he has agreed a three year deal with the option to extend for a further year at the end of the term.

Mark Warburton told the official R’s website that Dozzell is the type of player he wants to help Rangers challenge for promotion in the 2021/22 Championship season;

“He is a player who really fits the mould of what we are looking for.”

Elsewhere, on the same day that Colchester United appointed Alex Dyer as assistant manager, they have also re-signed a club legend in Freddie Sears, who scored 36 goals in three seasons with them.

Sears said that he made his name with Colchester and when manager Hayden Mullins got in touch after the players’ release from Ipswich Town, it was an easy decision to make.

He said: “It means more coming back, just raring to get going. Coming back to the stadium, going back to the training ground, and seeing everyone again makes it feel special and I’m raring to get going again.”
