Christian Eriksen Issues First Message Since Collapse

Thank You

Soccer Am tweeted the following message from Eriksen’s camp:

The Dane suffered a cardiac arrest just prior to half-time in the match after collapsing near the touchline. The Denmark team doctor Mr Morten Boesen has told a news conference that initial tests on the player “look fine” so far which is welcome news as the player continues to make his recovery in hospital in Copenhagen.

Danish FA Message

The Danish FA released a statement on Sunday about Eriksen’s health and confirmed that all connected with the team are receiving crisis assistance after witnessing such an awful incident to one of their friends and colleagues:

“This morning (Sunday 13th June) we have spoken to Christian Eriksen who has sent his greetings to his teammates. His condition is stable and he continues to be hospitalised for further examination.

“Players and staff have received crisis assistance and will continue to be there for each other after yesterday’s incident.

“We would like to thank everyone for the heartfelt greetings to Christian Eriksen from fans, players, the royal families from both Denmark and England, international associations, clubs etc.”

Quick Actions Saved Player’s Life

The quick response from players and medics saved Eriksen’s life and in particular the quick actions of captain Simon Kjaer, who put Eriksen into the recovery position and cleared his airwaves, making a critical difference in the player’s chances of survival.

Eriksen will now continue to have tests and be observed as he continues to recover.
