Real Madrid Willing to Listen to Offers for Both Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard This Summer

Gareth Bale

According to Sky Sports, Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers for both Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard this summer as they look to clear deadwood. Bale’s permanent departure has looked likely for a couple of years now with injury after injury sending his progress to a crashing halt.

The injuries combined with his carefree act in Spain saw him fall out of favour in Madrid and sent on loan to Tottenham Hotspur. His loan spell has been somewhat successful, too. Once the Jose Mourinho anchor was released, the Welshman relished with more game time. By the time his loan spell ended, Bale scored 16 and assisted a further three goals in all competitions.

As for Eden Hazard, it’s almost the same, damming story of injury woes. He left Chelsea as one of the best players in the world. Now, two years on, he is one of the most disappointing players to have made a move to Spain. Madrid believed they were finally getting a Cristiano Ronaldo replacement, for what was considered to be a bargain deal of £100 million at the time. Instead, they received another Gareth Bale- and, no, not the 2015 version.

Eden Hazard: A Dream Move Turned Into a Nightmare

It’s almost every footballer’s dream to grace the famous turf of the Bernabeu in the white colours of Real Madrid. They dream of becoming a star player; the next Galactoco. Eden Hazard had that dream and he thought he realised it. And then injury struck; the footballing gods dealt him the harshest of blows to turn what was once considered a dream into a nightmare.

The Belgian’s fall from grace has been depressing to watch. The player who was feared by every Premier League defender is gone. The player whose graceful touch would see him glide past player after player, is gone. Now, it is looking increasingly likely that his time in Spain will come to an end.

The hope will be that, should he make a move, it will pay off and we’ll once again see the Eden Hazard that tore the Premier League apart.
