Gameweek 28 Fantasy Premier League Captaincy: The Options

Harry Kane

  • Goals: 16
  • Assists: 13
  • FPL Points: 182
  • FPL points in the last five matches: 31
  • Price: £11.3
  • Opponents: Arsenal (away)

Tottenham Hotspur face Arsenal in the North London Derby this Sunday. Harry Kane absolutely loves this fixture, scoring 11 goals in 12 matches against the Gunners in the Premier League. Besides, Kane is in great form as well. He scored a couple of goals in the last match with two assists as well against Crystal Palace. It is unlikely to be an easy game for Spurs but one has to fancy Kane to get an attacking return in this game.

Bruno Fernandes

  • Goals: 16
  • Assists: 12
  • FPL Points: 206
  • FPL points in the last five matches: 37
  • Price: £11.5
  • Opponents: West Ham United (home)

Manchester United face the high-flying Hammers this weekend in a crucial fixture for the battle to cement a place in the top four. West Ham have only lost once since the start of February and that was against league leaders Manchester City. They played very well in that game as well. It will be a very tough fixture for the Red Devils.

However, Bruno Fernandes can deliver in any match and against anyone as he proved last week. Just one penalty can propel him to a double-digit score. So, captaining Fernandes is definitely a temptation even though it promises to be a tough encounter

Gareth Bale

  • Goals: 5
  • Assists: 2
  • FPL Points: 57
  • FPL points in the last five matches: 40
  • Price: £9.4
  • Opponents: Arsenal (away)

Gareth Bale is in sensational form. In fact, he is the most in-form player at the moment. It has been a long time since Bale faced Arsenal in the Premier League but in his last two matches against them, he scored twice. It would take a brave man to hand the armband to Bale but on current form it may not be the worst punt.

Kevin De Bruyne

  • Goals: 3
  • Assists: 11
  • FPL Points: 111
  • FPL points in the last five matches: 16
  • Price: £11.8
  • Opponents: Fulham (away)

Kevin De Bruyne should be considered for the armband as well, although his returns have been rather uninspiring. With De Bruyne, a big score is possible in any game but it may not be easy against a highly competitive Fulham side.

Ilkay Gündogan

  • Goals: 11
  • Assists: 3
  • FPL Points: 134
  • FPL points in the last five matches: 30
  • Price: £6.2
  • Opponents: Fulham (away)

Ilkay Gündogan’s superb form has deteriorated somewhat recently. In fact, the German has struggled to produce FPL points since the return of Kevin De Bruyne with just one assist in four matches. However, he is still involved in the attacking play a lot and is always close to the box. If Guardiola starts him, a big score against Fulham is not out of the question. The Cottagers are in decent form though.

Gameweek 28 Fantasy Premier League Captaincy

Considering the options this week, Harry Kane and Bruno Fernandes seem to be the best ones. The great record that Kane has in the derby should definitely be considered. Also, Arsenal players might be a bit tired from their away trip to Greece. Spurs will play at home on Thursday night which should help them for the derby.
