According to Get French Football News, Neymar is set to extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain- signing a four-year contract extension. The news comes just a month into Mauricio Pochettino’s reign, who has seemingly convinced Neymar to stay.
The news will leave PSG fans delighted with the Brazilian on course to spend the rest of his prime in Paris.
Neymar Set for PSG Contract Extension
Pochettino and Neymar Can Link up for Champions League Win
With a world-class manager in Mauricio Pochettino, who has already won one trophy during his one month spell at the club, behind him, Neymar could finally lift the Champions League once more.
His talent is undoubted, and, if he can stay fit, he and Pochettino could propel Paris Saint-Germain to new heights. By reportedly putting pen to paper on a new contract, Neymar silences the critics of French football who claim it is an inferior league.
The former Barcelona man, now 28-years-old, would not stay at a club if he believed he could not reach the greatest of heights. He departed Barcelona, and they haven’t been the same since.
Now, should he sign the four-year extension, Neymar will have the opportunity to cement himself into the history of French football by leading Paris Saint-Germain to a potential Champions League win.
Mbappe Could Follow Suit
With Neymar reportedly set to sign a new contract, Kylian Mbappe could follow suit to keep his deadly partnership with the winger going. Mbappe’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2022.
As it stands, PSG risk losing him for free should he fail to follow in the footsteps of Neymar. The hope will be that the attraction of working with Pochettino is enough to convince the Frenchman to stay in Ligue 1 and sign a new contract.
