Yokuslu Arrives After Falling Out of Favour in Spain

The 26-year-old Turkish international has been a consistent performer in La Liga. He has made 12 appearances this season. However, he has started only three times and has fallen out of favour under new manager Eduardo Coudet.

The midfielder brings creativity and steel to a West Brom midfield struggling in the Premier League. His presence should add the traits Allardyce has been scouring for all transfer window as he plots safety for the Baggies.

Yokuslu will now test himself in the Premier League but won’t be involved in West Brom’s crucial six-pointer with Sheffield United tomorrow which is a massive game for both sides in the Premier League relegation battle. Both must win but dare not lose.

His debut is likely to come against Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.

Technical Director Luke Dowling Confirms a Midfielder Was a Priority Signing

Speaking to the West Brom website about their new signing, Dowling said: “it has been a priority since the start of the January window to build on the quality we already have in the building and, in Okay, we have a proven international midfielder who we believe can help us in our battle to remain in the Premier League.

“As was the case with Mbaye Diagne and Robert Snodgrass, it is important the players joining us understand the situation in which we find ourselves, and are prepared to fight to help us achieve our goal. It is testament to Okay that he has also made the decision to commit himself to that challenge.

“Okay is a battling midfielder who wears his heart on his sleeve. We look forward to him joining up with his team-mates later this week as they prepare to face Tottenham on Sunday.”
