Thomas Tuchel has placed faith in the current Chelsea squad, despite reports that multiple players would leave on loan.

Billy Gilmour Amongst Chelsea Players to Stay at Stamford Bridge

Billy Gilmour, Faustino Anjorin, Marcos Alonso and Olivier Giroud will all stay at Chelsea on deadline day.

Rumours had linked the players with loan moves away from Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window. But, it is now believed the quartet will stay in East London.

Squad Players Look to Solidify International Places

Scottish international Gilmour was heavily linked with a loan move away to secure first-team football ahead of the upcoming European Championships.

Tuchel had spoken glowingly of Gilmour in his short time as Chelsea boss and has assured the midfielder he is part of his plans.

Giroud is another Chelsea player who has been linked with a move away for first-team football. The French international started the season as third-choice striker behind Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner.

Giroud has scored three times in 11 Chelsea appearances this season and could yet feature for the new Blues boss.

Tuchel Yet to Make First Chelsea Signing

There have been no arrivals at Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, despite many outgoings.

Danny Drinkwater and Fikayo Tomori have both left the Bridge on loan moves to Kasimpasa and AC Milan respectively. The pair are amongst four Chelsea players who have gone out on loan this window.

Lucas Piazon is the only player to have left on a permanent deal – the midfielder joined Braga on a free transfer.

Chelsea spent over £200 million on transfers in the summer but will not dip into the market during the January transfer window.

Failure to get the most out of the summer arrivals was a contributing factor to Frank Lampard losing his job. Tuchel will place faith in the current Chelsea squad as they continue their assault on the Premier League and Champions League.
