The Career of Serhat Tasdemir to This Point

The former Azerbaijan youth international started his career with Blackburn Rovers. However, his hometown club did not feel as if he had a future with them, so he moved to AFC Fylde.

For the National League side, Tasdemir made 54 appearances, scoring eight times and assisting four times.

Now 20-years-old, Tasdemir made his debut for AFC Fylde when he was just 17-years-old. In July of 2019, Peterborough United signed him for an undisclosed fee.

Since signing for the League One side, he has made 20 appearances in all competitions, notching one goal and one assist.

This season, Tasdemir has only managed to find the pitch in EFL Trophy clashes, so Peterborough felt loaning him out was the best for his progression.

Outlook At Oldham Athletic

A move to Oldham Athletic is exactly what Tasdemir needs to further his development. Although Tasdemir is known to be an attacking midfielder, his versatility sticks out. I

n fact, in his professional career, he has played 37 matches on the right side of the midfield, 14 on the left, and only 10 in the number 10 role. His adaptability is a quality Oldham will be thrilled to have.

The side currently sit 13th in League Two. Harry Kewell, who has led the Latics to victory in two of their last three matches utilizing a 4-3-3, knows a player such as Tasdemir can be effective in many positions the formation commands.

With an intensive fixture list, Kewell knows rotation is needed. Tasdemir can perform wherever he is called upon to do so, making him an overall shrewd signing.
