Charlton Athletic Sign Winger Diallang Jaiyesimi on a Permanent Deal from Swindon Town

Swindon Town winger Diallang Jaiyesimi has joined Charlton Athletic on a permanent deal.

The winger has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at the Valley and joins for an undisclosed fee.

He is the latest new face to join Charlton Athletic as Lee Bowyer looks to bolster his squad for a promotion push in the second half of the season.  The winger is their fifth signing in this transfer window.

Jaiyesimi Has Been One of Swindon’s Better Performers

Jaiyesimi arrives looking to help Charlton push for promotion. He impressed at Swindon in what has been a poor season for the Robins. Jaiyesimi has featured in 18 league games, scoring four times and setting up three others.

His arrival adds a different edge to the Charlton attack. His pace and ability to take people on will be a major boost for an Addicks side who have lacked pace in the forward areas.

Jaiyesimi is unlikely to be involved in tomorrow’s crucial clash with Portsmouth having signed late on deadline day. His debut is likely to come against Rochdale this weekend.

Lee Bowyer Thrilled With the Arrival of Jaiyesimi

Speaking to the Charlton website about his new signing, manager Lee Bowyer said: “I’m over the moon to get him. He’s a good player, he’s young, he’s going to bring us something different. We worked hard to get this one over the line, it has been a long day, we got this right at the death at the deadline.

“If I was to liken him to someone, it would probably be [Jonathan] Leko, with that unpredictability – you never know what he is going to do. We experienced that when he scored against us. He has that unpredictability we need in that final third.”
