Midfielder Pens Deal Until 2023

Gosling becomes the latest player to sign for The Hornets this transfer window. The 30-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal to give manager Xisco Muñoz further options in the midfield department.

A Wealth of Experience for Dan Gosling

During his 15-year career, the versatile midfielder has racked up more than 300 appearances with 21 goals to date. His portfolio of clubs includes, earlier in his career, starting out at Plymouth Argyle and Everton. On Merseyside, he was a runner-up in the 2009 FA Cup final. From there, he would move to Newcastle United with a loan spell at Blackpool sandwiched in between.

Bournemouth was to be his next port of call in 2014. He would spend seven seasons on the South coast with 168 games and 12 goals to show.

Overall, Gosling has featured in three different Premier League sides and will be looking to add Watford to his list of triumphs.

Gosling was also capped by his country in his youth days with three outings for the England U21 team.

Adaptability His Key Strength

Watford will be bolstered by the fact Gosling is a multi-functional player – perfectly adept to play in all areas of midfield and at right-back too. His main strength is in central midfield as well as the defensive midfield role. He will add to the squad depth in that department which includes the likes of Tom Cleverley, Nathaniel Chalobah and Will Hughes.

Lightning to Strike Twice Perhaps

Watford have the clear aim of attaining Premier League promotion. Therefore Gosling will look to add his experience. Notably, he has a previous promotion on his résumé from the Championship with Bournemouth in 2014/15. On that occasion, the Cherries went up as champions with 90 points. Curiously, they finished one point ahead of his new team Watford. Gosling will be pushing to repeat the promotion trick at Vicarage Road.
