Aston Villa are Closing in on the Signing of Midfielder Morgan Sanson

Aston Villa are growing increasingly confident they can seal a deal for Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The French midfielder looks set to become Villa’s first signing in this transfer window. His arrival would further emphasise Villa’s intent for the rest of the season.

According to Romano, the two are close to finding an agreement. Personal terms are close and Sanson could be a Villa player in the next few days.

Sanson Set to be Villa’s First January Signing

The signing of Morgan Sanson is seen as a real coup for Aston Villa. The Villains look set to beat several Premier League rivals for his signature with Villa close to agreeing a deal.

Sanson, like many of his Marseille teammates, are available if the price is right. Marseille are desperate to generate funds after the major collapse of the Ligue 1 television deal. The collapse of Mediapro in France has left clubs severely short financially.

Villa look set to exploit Marseille’s need to sell. Sanson is one of their highly-valued players but Villa look set to spend significantly less than Marseille’s true value of the player.

Sanson looks set for a move to the Premier League. His game would certainly suit English football. A no-nonsense box to box midfielder who possesses real quality on the ball. His arrival will continue Villa’s strong links to Ligue 1. Bertrand Traore arrived in the summer from Lyon while Villa have also plucked Frederic Guilbert and Anwar El Ghazi from French football.

The signing of Sanson is another sign of intent from an improving Aston Villa side. Their season resumes on Wednesday at Manchester City following their COVID-19 outbreak. Villa will be in buoyant mood as they look to maintain their European push.

Marseille Set to Use Sanson Funds to Sign Napoli Striker Arkaduisz Milik

With Sanson set to depart, its going to be a case of one in, one out at Marseille. Andre Villas-Boas’ team are closing in on Napoli striker Arkaduisz Milik, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Polish striker is close to finalising his move to Southern France. The final details are being sorted out between the two clubs and Marseille are confident of announcing Milik’s arrival soon.
