How the latest fixture changes affect Gameweek 19

After the recent fixture changes, West Ham UnitedWest Bromwich AlbionFulhamChelseaLeicester CityManchester UnitedLiverpool, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Burnley will play twice in Gameweek 19. The other teams will play once except Everton who aren’t in action at all.

Goalkeepers

Emiliano Martínez, with two matches, remains the best long-term keeper option this season. Lukasz Fabianski also has two home matches with clean sheet opportunities in both, so he could be worth consideration. Ederson could be a decent option as well despite his high price as Manchester City just keep getting those clean sheets.

Defenders

Having Manchester City defenders on your FPL side should be the top priority for the FPL managers. João Cancelo and Rúben Dias are the best of their defenders with John Stones a good option as well. With six clean sheets in the last eight matches, Pep Guardiola‘s men have become a very tough nut to crack. Traditionally, their attackers were the ones to get but this season things look different.

As mentioned earlier, the Hammers have two good home fixtures. Aaron Cresswell and Vladimir Coufal are great picks from them.

With two home games, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson should be considered as well. However, their high prices might put the FPL managers off.

Leeds United defenders should do well at home to Brighton & Hove Albion. Stuart Dallas is the obvious choice from them.

Romain Saïss could also come up with a big score at home to West Bromwich Albion in the black county derby.

Midfielders

Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Fernandes, Son Heung-minMohamed Salah and Sadio Mané are all good options this week, but it is impossible to fit all of them. One has to pick and choose between these premium options. Salah has not done well recently but he has an amazing home record. He plays twice at Anfield this gameweek. One of those two fixtures is against top of the table Manchester United but he could still do well in that match. Salah scored last time he faced the Red Devils at Anfield. Then he will face Burnley, who managed to draw last time against Liverpool and are generally a tough side to play against. Salah does not have the best record against these two teams.

De Bruyne has two home games and should do well. However, City do not seem to get those huge home wins anymore. The Belgian has provided consistent points regardless.

With some great fixtures coming up for Manchester City, one could take a punt on Raheem Sterling as well. His form has been patchy but he remains a major threat in front of goal. Ilkay Gündogan, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez are all good players but are always at risk of rotation.

Bruno Fernandes has an amazing away record in the Premier League. However, his matches are not the easiest this gameweek. Fulham have improved recently and that match may not be easy for the Red Devils. Liverpool at Anfield is arguably the toughest game in the league as well. Also, the Portuguese has to be careful as he is on four yellow cards. One more and he will miss the subsequent match.

So, one has to look at all the information and the state of his/her FPL side before deciding about the premium options. Son Heung-min faces the worst side in the league. So, the decision to sell him for a double gamer is not easy at all. With Sheffield United desperate for points, they might attack Spurs which will play directly into their hands. Son is devastating on fast counters.

Some cheap options from the midfield that might do well are Anwar El Ghazi, Bertrand Traoré, Ademola Lookman, James Maddison, Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen.

One should not overlook Pedro Neto as he faces a poor West Brom side.

Strikers

Among the double gamers, Jamie Vardy is the best choice on paper. However, his fitness issues might scare some of the FPL managers. Can Vardy play 180 minutes in four days? Only time will tell but he remains a great pick.

Callum Wilson, Ollie Watkins, Michail Antonio and Chris Wood will all play twice this gameweek. Antonio has the best fixtures but he has only just returned from injury. After selling Sébastien Haller, David Moyes must depend on Antoni, so he might have to play both matches.

From the single gamers, Patrick Bamford and Harry Kane have brilliant fixtures. They should both do well.
